My client are looking for a Service Engineer to join their Service team. This is a field engineering role (van provided) mainly in the South East of England with the occasional requirement to travel further afield. The role mainly consists of planned maintenance visits with some service call outs and installation work. The successful candidate must be driven by providing clients with an exceptional level of service, will be an excellent communicator and have the ability and willingness to learn.


Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • PAT Testing
  • Visual inspections and testing of curtains, curtain tracks and fixings to check for operation, defects and deterioration
  • Mechanical safety inspections consisting of visual inspection and load testing to determine the safe working load of lighting bars, suspension points and associated rigging equipment in compliance with LOLER/PUWER regulations
  • Functional testing of in service AV equipment
  • Attending service call outs – fault finding and resolution to the client’s satisfaction
  • When necessary, assisting in the professional and efficient installation of stage AV and lighting as well as architectural lighting, drapery and stage engineering into schools, colleges, theatres and other similar venues.
  • Timely updating of job reports, along with other administration tasks to support the engineering role
  • Working with the office based team to ensure any follow up actions are completed fully and efficiently
  • Other tasks as required by your Manager


Essential Skills:

  • Ability to work to the highest quality standards with excellent attention to detail
  • A flexible approach to work, along with the ability to work proactively and efficiently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and customer service skills
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Must hold full UK driving licence
