Purpose

You will have the responsibility for the day to day running of the regional office to ensure that targets are achieved. You will also ensure that site operations under the management of the regional office are executed effectively and efficiently, delivering a trusted service to clients.

 

Key Responsibilities:-

  • Managing existing client relationships and representing my client in a management capacity to ensure project / contract reviews are completed to the required standard
  • Maintaining an excellent relationship with a trusted service by liaising with clients to answer queries and arrange work
  • Ensuring optimisation of staff and achievement of target earnings whilst ensuring that adequacy of resources are maintained
  • Ensuring compliance with the quality system by understanding my client's technical operating procedures and ensuring work meets these standards through report checking
  • To ensure continued compliance with the Business Management System, investigating incidents (near-miss, accidents etc) and customer complaints or queries (non-conformance) where required
  • Monitoring the operational and technical performance of the region and reporting accordingly
  • Arranging and chairing regional team meetings for sharing of information
  • Managing resources/workload, to delegate and assign work on a daily basis to regional surveyors and analysts ensuring optimal placement of the technical team
  • Managing regional technical teams to ensure all surveyors and analysts are appropriately trained through liaison with the Regional Assurance Coordinator and that technical and personal support is available
  • To ensure that the qualifications and talents of the team are used to the full and to facilitate team development by using the Personal Development Appraisal
  • To undertake any other duties as requested by the Operations Director
  • In regions where there is no Technical Coordinator, the Operations Manager is also expected to liaise with Regional Assurance Coordinator to monitor and ensure that all requirements related to QC, authorisations and equipment including fibre QC, resurveys, audits, experience and skills and calibrations are completed on time and remain valid

Person Criteria:-

  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
  • Relevant industry competence qualification(s) i.e. CCP (Asbestos) or working towards this qualification
  • In house, or external training, to a standard to satisfy any inspection/testing activities, having had practical experience of surveying and analytical air monitoring.
  • Demonstrable experience of client liaison and provision of consultancy services
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Using your own initiative
  • Strong work ethic, and the ability to work effectively and intuitively
  • Flexible and adaptable approach (including to out-of-hours working and travelling away)
  • Attention to detail for accurate data
  • Able to offer constructive suggestions for improvement
  • Well organised and works well under pressure
