Job Title: Sales Engineer

Location: South East, UK

Role Overview:

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Sales Engineer. This role will be responsible for developing business within the Fire vertical and following closure of sales, project managing the full sales engineering cycle including advice, design, price and delivery of works for all clients. Successful candidates will have current hands-on technical sales experience in solution-selling, closing deals and strong relationships with key decision-makers. This is an excellent opportunity to significantly grow our Fire Sales customer base with a competitive compensation package. This is an individual contributor, field-based role, involving frequent travel.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a sales territory that achieves growth, revenue and profit targets in specific geographic markets for products and services within our Fire portfolio
  • Deliver robust Fire Design and Life Safety packages
  • Following closure of sales, project manage the full sales engineering cycle including advice, design, price and delivery of works for all levels of client
  • Act as a key subject matter expert for employees on BS, BAFE, FIA, standards and procedures
  • Manage and maintain lead generation, build channel and end-user relationships and support business development
  • Work closely with Sales management to develop sales strategies and tactical plans to deliver the business objectives of the territory
  • Work closely with Operations to understand the fulfilment of customer expectations and requirements

Requirements:

  • Qualification in Technical Fire Engineering FIA Level 3 in Fire Detection and Alarm Design Theory and Regulatory Requirements beneficial
  • Experienced in High Level Project Management of Fire Installation
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Fire and Security market specialising in proactive video monitoring
  • Methodical and professional approach to Design, Sales and Engineering
  • Managed effective working relationships with internal support functions, specifically Installation and Operations
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and adhering to Sales processes, procedures and reports
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation, time management, negotiation and closing skills
  • Engaged and engaging personal style, listens and responds appropriately to issues, able to influence customers and close deals
  • Business acumen demonstrated delivering results whilst managing uncertainty, competition and commercial barriers
  • Energetic and motivated, able to work long hours when required to meet deadlines
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic, entrepreneurial and/or start-up environment
  • Must be able to work independently as an individual contributor, as well as collaboratively with colleagues and customers
