Job Title: Security and Small Works Service Engineer 

Location: East Sussex

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Security and Small Works Service Engineer. This role will be responsible for servicing and supporting new and existing security customers by responding to service calls, carrying out planned maintenance and small installation works. The successful candidate will provide an exceptional customer service experience whilst completing routine servicing, testing, inspection, repairs and installation of cameras, intruder alarms and access controls and associated equipment and products.

Responsibilities:

  • Service, repair and resolve faults of cameras, intruder and access control systems equipment
  • Install the appropriate devices, work safely and responsibly to avoid injuries, damage to property and the loss of unused materials
  • Investigating and diagnosing faults on systems
  • Provide recommendations for customer sites following review of initial problems
  • Provide excellent customer service to exceed the expectations and requirements of the internal and external customers
  • Focus on customer satisfaction whilst completing routine servicing, testing, inspection, repairs and installation of associated security equipment
  • Ensure all customer queries are followed up accurately and provide technical knowledge and support where possible
  • Correctly complete engineer work reports, handover certificates/BSIA certificates or checklist as appropriate
  • Prepare accurate job reports detailing works undertaken and parts used
  • Maintain a strong understanding of relevant British Standards, in particular clauses relating to servicing, maintenance and commissioning
  • Maintain and service the systems to ensure compliance with BS, BAFE and FIA standards and procedures.
  • Provide detailed documents and reports to the Operations teams regarding service works completed and materials used
  • Work closely with Operations and Sales to try to resolve any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise for customers to ensure customer satisfaction

Requirements:

  • Certification in Access Equipment Training (IPAF) essential
  • Certification in Asbestos Awareness training beneficial
  • Excellent technical skills related to building automation systems and electronic security systems
  • Proven track record in the security sector (CCTV, Intruder, and Access Control Systems)
  • Ability to demonstrate experience of servicing, fault finding and repairing Security/Intruder Alarm Systems, CCTV systems (Analogue & IP) and Access Control Systems with Pelco, Texecom, Galaxy and Scantronic systems
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Security Market specialising in proactive video monitoring
  • Strong understanding of relevant British Standards, in particular clauses relating to servicing, maintenance and commissioning
  • Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card holder or Electrotechnical Certification Scheme card holder
  • Excellent decision making and problem solving skills
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to handle multiple service needs simultaneously
  • Familiarity with safe working practices and Health and Safety requirements
  • Proficient computer skills using MS Office (Outlook, Word and Excel)
