Job Title: Junior Service/Maintenance Engineer

Location: South East, UK

We have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Service/Maintenance Engineer. This role will be responsible for installing, maintaining and servicing temporary hired CCTV systems by responding to service calls, carrying out planned maintenance and supporting small installation works. The successful candidate will provide an exceptional customer service experience whilst completing minor repairs to existing hardwired CCTV systems such as routine servicing, testing, inspection, repairs of cameras, intruder alarms and access controls and associated equipment and products. This is an excellent opportunity to work within an experienced team, to further develop knowledge and experience within the Security Industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Support in maintaining and servicing CCTV systems and related equipment, including the deployment of temporary CCTV solutions as and when required across a multitude of industries and sites
  • Install rapid deployment of instant solutions and battery operated camera systems
  • Assess the required repairs to CCTV systems and Access Control systems
  • Install the appropriate devices, work safely and responsibly to avoid injuries, damage to property and the loss of unused materials
  • Focus on customer satisfaction whilst completing minor routine servicing, testing, inspection, repairs and installation of associated security equipment
  • Ensure all customer queries are followed up accurately and provide technical support where possible
  • Ensure 100% project completion on assigned scheduled work on a daily basis
  • Participate in the 24 hour on call rota diary
  • Attend and successful complete various courses (Ladder training, Health and Safety UKATA and others)

Requirements:

  • Minimum of Grade C in Math and English at GCSE Level
  • Excellent computer skills and proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of the Security Industry
  • Demonstrated strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
  • Mechanical, fitting or servicing equipment experience advantageous
  • Strong awareness of relevant British Standards, in particular clauses relating to servicing, maintenance and commissioning
  • Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card holder or Electrotechnical Certification Scheme card holder preferred
  • Excellent decision making and problem solving skills
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to handle multiple service needs simultaneously
  • Ability to make decisions, prioritise tasks and work on own initiative to ensure high standards of service delivery
  • Familiarity with safe working practices and Health and Safety requirements
  • Full clean driving licence
